Intellisense Systems Inc Mechanical Engineer in Torrance, California

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Emerging Technologies Department.  This department works on cutting-edge research involving the innovative design, integration, and implementation of emerging opto-electronics components.  In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers and scientists to develop novel solutions and facilitate the transition of new technologies out of R&D into practical applications.

This is an on-site role located in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide hands-on engineering work in designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions.

  • Support a multidisciplinary team (mechanical, electronics, software) focused on transitioning new technologies from R&D into production to enhance our military and aerospace product lines.

  • Perform technical effort estimation and support project timelines in coordination with Project Leads.

  • Prepare project documentation, including technical reports, ICDs, and test plans (ATP/QTP).

  • Support milestone review presentations such as SRR, PDR, and CDR.

  • Collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels and across diverse technical backgrounds.

  • Monitor daily project operations and overcome obstacles to enhance overall team efficiency.

    Requirements:

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.

  • 2-5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering field

  • Advanced proficiency in solid modeling using SolidWorks (preferred), Pro-E, or CATIA.

  • Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS) for structural and thermal simulation.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DFM, GD&T, and producing manufacturing drawings for production environments.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external customers.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance is a plus.

    Pay Range:

    $100,000-$125,000

    However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
