A Senior Manufacturing Technical Manager in the Leo Customer Terminal Engineering organization will understand customer desires, technology, and business opportunities to design and deliver Customer Terminals to a diverse set of Aviation customers. You understand key problems and analyze multiple solutions working cross functionally to produce the most power efficient, cost effective, technically advanced, lowest cost manufacturing assembly and test, and scalable Customer Terminal available in the market. A Senior Manufacturing Technical Manager provides the global vision, rationale, and recommendations to leadership teams for challenging technical issues related to Customer Terminal manufacturing while working on continually improving manufacturing assembly and test each year.

Export Control Requirement:

This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.

Amazon's vision is to be the world's most customer-centric company, and this role is key to that vision. As a Senior Manufacturing Technical Manager, you will be leading projects to ever-evolving customer needs for the continual development and innovation of Customer Terminals.

As an ideal candidate:

• You are able to identify and solve technical manufacturing assembly and testing challenges independently.

• You are responsible for continual improvement of internal design team standards to optimize for manufacturing assembly and testing.

• Working with a team of engineers, business development leaders, industrial design, customer terminal operations, and product integrity, you are responsible for technical updates manufacturing and assembly line to drive CT performance standardization.

• You lead projects with widespread impact on CT design, innovation and implementation.

• You demonstrate ability to review business cases and analysis models with the business development team ensuring viability of program.

• You decompose complex problems and distill underlying risks and benefits, and identify straightforward and actionable solutions to reduce risk.

• You work independently and have frequent reviews with business, engineering, software, operations and others.

• You understand which escalations to resolve independently, and actively facilitate the escalation of high-impact issues to senior engineering and business leadership.

• You understand the key aspects of legacy and modern phase array antenna design for satellite systems and how to incorporate new innovations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • 10+ years of experience in either mass production consumer electronics or aviation Experience in Design for Manufacture, Design for Test, Design for SMT, Design for Quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience using statistical tools such as Minitab

  • 5+ years of designing experiments and statistical analysis of results experience

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Experience in aviation manufacturing

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
