Job Description:
Perform activities developing components of solutions with a focus on analytics, support, testing, and proof of concepts aligned to business and technology objectives.
Provide a broad range of system solutions development to business problems through the development and programming of applications / systems. May also provide research, installation, maintenance, configuration, administration and/or provisioning of systems/applications.
CUSTOMER
Developnew solutionsasrequiredfor engineering programs and projects within assigned area
Develop new features and perform unit / component test for new application development initiatives aligned to business needs andin accordance withtechnology architecture standards
Support business enquiries and business activities through execution of small enhancements and break / fix implementations (e.g.source code changes)Mayalsobe responsible forpeer code review.
Work with technology partners to ensure the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals
Analyze the technical requirements to recommend pragmatic and sound engineering specific solutions for own area, may be involved in coding/story estimates
Work with other stakeholders, internal technology partners to ensure engineering solutions meet technical direction, requirements, performance, time-to-marketand innovation goals
Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support businessobjectivesand engineering decisions, undertaking re-development whererequired
Document and verify system components, applications, system infrastructure, security, integration,operabilityand engineering related architecture designs associated with a program or project
Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
Create andmaintainquality code, ensure defect free programming consistent with standards; provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment andparticipatein reviewing peer coding
Provide technicalexpertiseduring Incident management, analyze incident reports and outages, perform impact assessment forincidentsandfacilitateinternal and external communication throughout incident resolution
Participate inidentifyingand recommending development / testing solutions / tools in support of project / application objectives
Assistin the development / maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues andparticipatein problem determination andtimelyresolution of incidents applyingappropriate qualitymeasures
SHAREHOLDER
Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to software engineering activities
Ensure respective programs/ policies/practices arewell managed, meets business needs,complies withinternal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
Collaboratively engage with relevant stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external, to shift from finding defects to proactively preventing defects
Activelyseekand support continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the engineering practice
Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
Identifyopportunities to minimize cost, providerecommendationsand/or deliver corresponding strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and to enhance stakeholder experience
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to quality, standards compliance, reusability and ease of maintenance, Operational Readiness Reviews, and supporting gating and reviewsign-offsfor solution design
Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunitiesexists
Lead /facilitateand/or implement actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues
Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
Protect the interests of the organization –identifyand manage risks, and escalate non-standard,high riskactivities as necessary
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

BREADTH & DEPTH
Advanced knowledge of specific domain or range of engineering frameworks, technology, tools,processesand procedures, as well as organization issues
Performs complex to difficult technical tasks independently
Advanced knowledge of technology, tools, various programming languages, processes, and procedures
Develops program specifications; adapts, integrates, codes,testsand debugs programs; andis responsible forexecuting
Uses existing procedures to solve routine problems; makes limited exceptions
Generallyreports to a Practice lead
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree, Postgraduatedegreeor Technical Certificate
Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
3-5 years relevant experience
Solid understanding of Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Time Tracking to ensure data aligns with business processes
Experience with Workday integration tools and techniques (Connectors, EIBs, Studio, APIs)
Experience with Workday Custom reports, calculatedfieldsand BIRT reporting
Workday Extend and/or Prism experience would be an asset
Understanding Workday security protocols, data privacy requirements, and securing data transfer
