Insight Global Senior Software Engineer in Toronto, Ontario
Job Description
We are seeking Senior Engineer to support and enhance a front‑office trading platform used across multiple asset classes.
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, production‑grade solutions while taking technical ownership of components across the trading lifecycle. You will work across multiple pods and initiatives within a broader trading technology team, collaborating closely with lead engineers, product owners, and stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute at a senior level to the design, build, and enhancement of trading platform components.
Take technical ownership of services and features across the trading lifecycle.
Guide design decisions and support best practices in system architecture and implementation.
Build new functionality and enhance existing systems in a cloud‑native environment.
Work across multiple pods or projects within the same broader engineering team.
Collaborate with lead engineers and peers to ensure scalable, reliable solutions.
Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and production support as needed.

Skills and Requirements
Strong experience with Python in production environments.
Hands‑on experience with AWS (core services and cloud fundamentals).
Strong SQL skills for data access, analysis, and debugging.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized environments.
Hands‑on experience with message‑driven systems (e.g., SQS, Kafka, or similar).
Strong technical fundamentals and demonstrated critical‑thinking skills.
Ability to clearly articulate design decisions, trade‑offs, and system behavior. Experience building or supporting low‑latency systems (Python, Java, or C).
Exposure to capital markets or front‑office trading systems.
Experience working in distributed, high‑availability systems.
Familiarity with modern system design patterns and event‑driven architectures.
