What you'll be doing

As an integral member of CIBC’s Open Banking Innovation team and reporting to the Director, Open Banking Strategy the Senior Manager, Open Banking plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the bank’s open banking capabilities. This position is responsible for ensuring that all initiatives are closely aligned with the strategic objectives and responsive to evolving market demands. The Senior Manager collaborates with various Lines of Business (LOBs) to develop and implement strategies, identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement. You will be responsible to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders to build alignment and drive the successful rollout of open banking initiatives.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you'll succeed

  • Product management – Develop, refine, and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the open banking platform that aligns with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements. Prioritize features and enhancements based on market trends, customer needs, competitive analysis, and business value. Create and manage a detailed product roadmap, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with regulatory requirements, evolving business landscape and stakeholder expectations.

  • Agile leadership - Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive change, and achieve results within a complex organizational structure. Champion Agile Ceremonies to Drive Transparency and Alignment. Ability to navigate challenging situations diplomatically and tactfully, while maintaining focus on achieving business objectives. Encourage teams to deliver value incrementally, with frequent releases and feedback loops. Use retrospectives to identify actionable improvements, remove impediments, and adapt processes for optimal team performance. Delegate responsibilities and empower teams to make decisions within the agile framework. Support a culture where team members take ownership of deliverables, collaborate effectively, and are accountable for achieving sprint goals.

  • Monitor Performance and drive continuous improvement - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, client adoption, and market impact. Analyze platform usage data, industry trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation. Lead initiatives for ongoing product enhancements, ensuring the platform remains competitive, secure, and compliant with evolving open banking standards.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement - Facilitate and actively participate in core agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Ensure these sessions foster open communication, clear goal setting, and alignment across cross-functional teams. Promote Continuous Improvement Through Iterative Delivery

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 5 to 8 years of work experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management, preferably within the financial services industry. It’s an asset if you have a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Certification

  • You can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Open Banking products , market trends, and the regulatory landscape.

  • You can demonstrate experience delivering in an agile environment and manage incremental delivery to ensure business outcomes

  • You can demonstrate exceptional business planning experience , business model development, and people change management.

  • You embrace and advocate for change. You continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.You have a forward-thinking mindset, always looking for new opportunities to define what's possible.
