The Employee Services Consultant, Performance & Advice supports the delivery of HR Solutions by providing timely, accurate, and compliant advice to employees and People Leaders. This role is responsible for managing low‑risk employee relations inquiries and escalated issues not resolved within Employee Services, ensuring matters are handled within service level agreements and mitigated locally to reduce potential risk to the Bank. Consultants provide advice aligned with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures while promoting consistent, positive service experiences.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Support the overall success of HR Solutions by executing individual goals, plans, and assigned initiatives aligned with GHRO objectives
Assess the complexity of employee and manager inquiries, resolving low‑risk issues directly and escalating more complex or high‑risk cases to the appropriate ER teams in line with established risk assessment guidelines
Act in an advisory capacity by providing guidance to employees and People Leaders on HR policies, procedures, and systems
Promote and guide the use of HR self‑service tools and functionalities to support efficient issue resolution
Manage and resolve low‑risk employee relations issues independently, ensuring alignment with Bank policies, local legislation, and compliance regulations
Review and manage escalated Performance & Advice cases, assessing facts, risks, and appropriate actions while ensuring global consistency and avoiding precedent‑setting outcomes
Communicate assessments, recommendations, and risks clearly, and coach People Leaders by directing them to appropriate tools, resources, and materials
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within ER case files until issues are fully resolved
Independently manage the communication, tracking, and reporting of policy violations as part of targeted compliance initiatives
Manage the communication, tracking, and reporting of emergency permit requests and hours‑of‑work policy violations, ensuring legislative compliance for hours worked in excess of 48
Ensure consistent, positive client experiences by streamlining service delivery and identifying clear next steps for resolution
Use knowledge management and case management systems effectively to respond to, document, and monitor inquiries
Support high volumes of inquiries during cyclical events and project‑based work while meeting established service level agreements
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
Bilingualism in English and French (spoken and written) is required
Post‑secondary degree in Human Resources or are pursuing education in a related field
CHRP or CHRL designation considered an asset
Deep understanding of Bank policies, procedures, and organizational complexity
Strong knowledge of employee relations principles and HR practices across business lines and jurisdictions
Sound judgment and strong problem‑solving skills
Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolution skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion
Ability to manage multiple priorities, remain organized, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
High attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility and adaptability in changing work environments
Ability to operate independently with minimal day‑to‑day direction
