Amazon Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal in Toronto, Ontario
Description
Help transform the cloud computing landscape by providing strategic legal guidance that empowers AWS's innovative technology solutions and supports AWS’s Canadian customers. In this role, you'll be one of the legal leads supporting AWS’s Canada business, helping to shape the future of cloud infrastructure and AI services while supporting our dynamic sales and marketing teams.
Key job responsibilities
Negotiate and draft strategic enterprise and technology licensing agreements across diverse business scenarios with a particular focus on AWS’s Canadian customers
Provide comprehensive legal counsel on policy, regulatory, and compliance matters specific to cloud computing and technology services
Support business development initiatives through precise legal interpretation and proactive risk management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal alignment with AWS's strategic objectives
Contribute to the development of legal frameworks that support AWS's innovative technology solutions
A day in the life
Your day will be a blend of strategic legal counsel and collaborative problem-solving. You'll dive into intricate contract negotiations, drive programmatic efforts in support of the AWS business and our customers, and provide nuanced guidance that bridges legal complexity with business innovation. Each interaction will challenge you to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable strategies for our AWS teams.

Basic Qualifications
2+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent
Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of technical problems
Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
Experience working cross functionally across several teams
Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
