About the Acquisitions Team You will be joining the CBC Acquisitions team, which is small yet mighty. We are hardworking, curious, and inclusive. Our team works to support the programming objectives of Entertainment, Factual and Sports (EFS) to deliver a viewing experience that will delight, inspire, and engage Canadians.
Role Overview We are looking for a proactive and resourceful Administrative Professional whose primary focus will be providing effective, day-to-day support specifically to the Senior Director of Acquisitions. While your core responsibility is to act as the operational backbone for the Senior Director, you will also provide a light element of support to the wider team by sharing updates and keeping everyone connected. Working in the fast-paced media industry requires a blend of high-level organization, discretion, and a friendly, collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities
Dedicated Executive Support: Plan, organize, and coordinate all day-to-day administration exclusively for the Senior Director.
Calendar & Meeting Mastery: Manage the scheduling of the Senior Director’s meetings and event calendar. Organize meetings and ensure the preparation and distribution of executive briefing documents and follow-up materials.
Travel & Logistics: Coordinate all travel plans for the Senior Director, including registrations for industry events, festivals, conferences, and global content markets. This includes completion of detailed travel expense reports.
Administrative support: track expenses and credit card management, subscription management, HR transactions such as onboarding/offboarding staff, IT and technical coordination and support, electronic filing, purchasing, and supplies acquisitions.
Expense tracking : Track expenses and create expense reports as required(TEMS).
Team Liaison & Operations: Share updates with the broader Acquisitions team as required and instructed. Assist with office equipment, IT technical support
Media & Content Support: Conduct content research as required; create and maintain databases of our global content partners as well as screening suites and other related items
Communication & Relationship Building: Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other CBC departments and external contacts.
Confidentiality: Coordinate sensitive and confidential information across departments, maintaining strict discretion with departmental records at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: A University degree and 3+ years of demonstrably related work experience.
Exceptional Computer Skills: Superior knowledge of and experience with internet and computer applications, specifically Google Business Applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Meet, Calendar), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom as well as an interest and curiosity for new apps for business. Solid technical skills are also required with regard to databases and office equipment.
Asset Systems & Software: Experience using Workday is considered a huge asset.
Administrative Excellence: Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. You must be a fast learner who is proactive, a self-starter, works independently, and takes initiative.
Adaptability: The ability to multitask and seamlessly handle competing priorities.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Must foster strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
The "Media" Edge: An interest in content is an asset, along with strong cultural sensitivity and a commitment to contributing to an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.
