Cognizant Sr. IT Business Analyst in Toronto, ON-199 Bay Street, Ontario
About the role
As a Senior IT Business Analyst , you will make an impact by translating complex business needs into secure, scalable technology solutions across IT, infrastructure, and cybersecurity domains. You will be a valued member of a high-performing delivery team and work collaboratively with Operations, Product, Wealth Advisors, and Technology stakeholders to drive enterprise transformation initiatives within Wealth Management.
In this role, you will:
Lead end-to-end requirements management, from discovery and analysis through delivery, ensuring full traceability between business needs and technical implementation
Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements using user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions supporting system migration, integration, and optimization initiatives
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, prioritization, and sprint planning to ensure development readiness
Develop and maintain workflow, data flow, and state diagrams to support current-state and target-state solution design
Support process automation and secure environment transitions, contributing to measurable improvements in efficiency and compliance
Provide clear, actionable documentation and communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, Ontario .

What you need to have to be considered:
10+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst delivering enterprise-level solutions
Proven expertise in requirements elicitation, user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, and functional documentation
Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban)
Ability to create and interpret workflow, data flow, and state diagrams
Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology teams
Experience supporting initiatives related to IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, or regulated environments
These will help you stand out:
Experience within Wealth Management, banking, or financial services environments
Knowledge of compliance and risk frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, or PIPEDA
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Experience with Power BI, executive reporting, or analytics-driven decision support
PMP, CSM, and/or CISM certifications
Familiarity with Generative AI tools or AI-assisted analytics

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until April 26, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 70,000 - $ 80,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
