You lead a team of procurement specialists for a specific business unit or region and serve as the single point of contact in procurement for local business leaders. In this role, you also manage interactions between business units or spend areas and stakeholders at the local level, collaborate with global/regional spend areas, business unit leads and across manufacturing, supply chain and commercial business stakeholders, and ensure the local implementation of regional or global projects.
How you will contribute
As the single point of contact, you will support the interactions between business units or spend areas, business unit stakeholders and specific project teams. In addition, you will deliver on the procurement process through effective management of procurement specialists;, take the lead in problem solving for supply and service issues, own the full sourcing activity for a local spend in partnership with regional sourcing teams, ensure regulatory compliance for all processes in scope, and manage local implementation—including service delivery, productivity and cash mobilization—of regional or global projects and agreements.

Mondelēz International (MDLZ) operates within a dynamic and fast-evolving regulatory landscape. This environment significantly impacts our strategic ingredient sourcing across all levels – strategic, tactical, and operational. To address these critical changes and future initiatives, we are seeking a dedicated Project Procurement Liaison for a 12-month contract. This role will serve as a vital link between project teams and our sourcing organization, ensuring procurement considerations are effectively integrated into new projects designed to adapt to these regulatory shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
As a blend of Project Manager and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement aspects of key projects, including:
Strategic Oversight:
Analyze the cost impact of regulatory changes on ingredient sourcing.
Provide expert procurement perspectives to project teams.
Assess the impact on current contracts and identify necessary adjustments.
Develop timelines for identifying and onboarding new suppliers, especially for shifts from artificial to natural ingredient sources.
Contribute to long-term strategy by evaluating how project outcomes will reshape future spend.
Proactively develop Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and identify opportunities arising from market disruptions.
Tactical Execution:
Ensure the establishment of efficient ordering channels and the setup of new vendors.
Collaborate with incumbent spend areas to ensure all necessary contracts are in place.
Ensure all internal controls are adhered to throughout the procurement process.
Lead and support negotiations to align with project timelines and secure favorable terms.
Operational Support:
Identify and remove roadblocks to facilitate timely and quality trials.
Ensure the smooth flow of quality and regulatory documentation and approvals.
Establish clear communication cadences with suppliers to optimize delivery and foster strong relationships with internal teams (R&D, Regulatory, Business Development).
Monitor trial outcomes, capture learnings, and adjust procurement strategies and spend accordingly.
Collaboration & Innovation:
Work closely with Mondelēz Digital Services (MDS) to develop and utilize ad-hoc tools for negotiation frameworks and operational efficiency.
Solve operational issues as they arise, applying a proactive and problem-solving approach.
What extra ingredients you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or project management, ideally within a complex or regulated industry.
Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier development, and contract management.
Ability to analyze complex data, identify cost implications, and provide strategic recommendations.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive and resourceful, with a proven ability to identify and resolve operational roadblocks.
Experience collaborating with R&D, Regulatory, and Business Development functions is highly desirable.
Comfortable working with digital tools and adapting to new technologies.
Education / Certifications:
Engineering Degree, Masters in Supply Chain or equivalent
Job specific requirements:
10 years or more experience in Supply Chain and Procurement
Restless motivation to get deliverables done and shift back-and-forth between strategical, tactical and operational discussions.
Capacity of problem solving: define the problem; determine the cause of the problem; identify right stakeholders and find solution
Building strong business relationships with stakeholders: Good working relationship with stakeholders e.g. Project team, Spend Area, MM, Regulatory, Legal, Finance
Good knowledge of procurement in large international companies
Good experience in Food Industry, Supply Chain, Operations
Good knowledge of manufacturing operations, models and ways of working

The expected base salary range for this position is $102,600 to $ 128,250CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.
