Insight Global Senior Fabric Engineer in Tonawanda, New York
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Data Engineer with hands‑on experience in Microsoft Fabric to design, build, and maintain a modern lakehouse platform. This individual will support the migration of legacy data pipelines into Fabric, develop scalable data models, and enable analytics and AI‑driven use cases across the organization. The role involves building and managing Fabric Lakehouse architectures (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers), integrating data from multiple enterprise sources into OneLake, and optimizing datasets for Power BI and Direct Lake reporting. This person will develop data transformations using SQL and Python, support both real‑time and batch analytics workflows, enforce governance, security, and role‑based access controls, and partner closely with analytics, product, and business teams to deliver actionable insights, including support for Copilot‑driven analytics experiences. This is a 6-month ongoing contract and pays $65-$70hr.

Skills and Requirements
• 7+ years delivering enterprise data as a data engineer
• 2+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Fabric experience, including:
○ Fabric Lakehouse, Direct Lake architecture, Fabric Notebooks, Power BI semantic models
• Built Fabric data pipelines supporting production reporting and AI scenarios
• Centralized large‑scale telemetry and operational datasets into OneLake
• Implemented Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)
• Experience with Copilot + Fabric to automate insights and executive reporting
• Strong background in SQL, Python, CI/CD, RBAC, and data governance
Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, analytics, and business stakeholder Designed real‑time Power BI dashboards on Fabric datasets
