Great Lakes Dental Technologies Document Control Specialist in Tonawanda, New York

The Document Control Specialist provides support to all areas of the organization by overseeing the documentation and records process including, the review, release and revision of policies, procedures, and documentation related to the entire quality management system.

Department: Quality and Regulatory

Supervisor: Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs 2nd Level: President and CEO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent to the job.

  • Provides support to all areas of the organization by overseeing the documentation and records process including, the review, release and revision of policies, procedures, and documentation related to the quality management system.
  • Assist process owners with drafting, implementation/training and revision of policies, procedures, and documentation related to the quality management system.
  • Administer the document approval, release, distribution, and retrieval process.
  • Update, controlled documents (retrieval, distribution, archiving, storage, and obsoleting)
  • Ensure maintenance of internal and external controlled documents, approvals, and implementation of the document changes into the document control system
  • Process change requests (documents, deviations, process/product changes etc.)
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to promote consistent formatting of all documentation.
  • Provides support for internal and third-party audit programs.
  • Assist other team members, as needed, to ensure compliance to the quality management system.

Education and/or Experience: * High School Diploma, or equivalent * 1+ year of prior related experience developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions and other documentation.

Minimum Requirement for this Job: * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. * Attention to details and timelines are needed. * Must build rapport across functional teams within the organization.

Technical Knowledge: * Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite such as word and excel is required.

Reasoning Ability: * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. * Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. * Ability to review data, draw conclusions and make suggestions based on data.
