Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager leads cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, ensuring that scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are consistently achieved. This role collaborates closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and external vendors to deliver new product development initiatives, process improvements, and operational projects that align with strategic business goals. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced automotive environment alongside industry-leading engineers, driving impactful projects that support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project execution, managing project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.

  • Coordinate and align cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and external vendors, to meet project objectives.

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Facilitate effective stakeholder communication, ensuring expectations are clearly defined, managed, and met throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues and escalating them when necessary to maintain project momentum.

  • Track and report project status, milestones, performance metrics, and financials to relevant stakeholders and leadership.

  • Lead and facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, status updates, and reviews, ensuring clear action items and follow-through.

  • Develop, maintain, and organize project documentation such as project charters, plans, schedules, and status reports.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives using business process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

  • Ensure projects comply with data privacy requirements, internal policies, and established procedures.

  • Support change order management and document control activities related to project deliverables.

  • Collaborate with engineering and project engineering teams to support mechanical and design-related project activities.

  • Utilize project management tools and office productivity software to plan, monitor, and communicate project progress.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project execution and operational efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • 5–7 years of project management experience across varied project types.

  • Proven experience managing projects within the automotive industry, strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and resources for complex projects.

  • Strong experience with requirements gathering and stakeholder communication.

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Working knowledge of business process improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP or data systems in a project environment, preferred.

  • Experience in engineering, mechanical engineering, or project engineering.

  • Ability to manage change orders and maintain effective document control.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Engineering is a plus.

  • Experience in project management within a fast-paced automotive environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.

  • Comfort working with design and mechanical engineering teams on technical project aspects.

  • Familiarity with data privacy principles and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment within a fast-paced automotive setting, working closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams. The Project Manager collaborates regularly with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality professionals, as well as external vendors, using tools such as Microsoft Project, the Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/MRP or other data systems. The environment emphasizes collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement, offering the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading engineers on impactful projects. Standard professional office attire is expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Tomball, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr.
