Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports the shipping department by measuring, assembling, and preparing customized crates and frames for shipment in a light industrial, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role involves frequent use of basic hand and power tools, careful measurement for accuracy, and maintaining a clean and organized work area while contributing to overall production and shipping operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the shipping department with daily production and shipping activities.

  • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to build customized crates and frames for shipment.

  • Assemble crates, frames, and related components according to specifications and quality standards.

  • Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and packaging tasks.

  • Package products securely to ensure safe transportation and delivery.

  • Inspect and double-check framing and assembly work to verify accuracy and quality.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.

  • Follow established manufacturing, production, and shipping procedures and guidelines.

  • Perform general labor tasks as needed to support overall production operations.

  • Carry out other duties within the department as assigned by leadership.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to stand for an 8–10 hour shift in a light industrial environment.

  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

  • Willingness and ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to double check framing and assembly work.

  • Capability to perform general labor, production, and manufacturing tasks.

  • Reliability and consistency in following instructions and established procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Entry-level role suitable for individuals seeking to gain experience in manufacturing, production, or general labor.

  • Experience with assembly work in a manufacturing or production setting is helpful but not required.

  • Familiarity with packing and packaging processes is an advantage.

  • Comfort working with hand and power tools in a production environment.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a shipping and manufacturing operation.

Work Environment

The facility manufactures industrial-sized ladders and mezzanines for manufacturing and distribution companies and operates as a light industrial/manufacturing environment that is climate controlled. The role is performed on-site and requires standing for most of the shift while working with basic hand tools, power tools, measuring tapes, and packaging materials. The standard schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional hours on Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as needed. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with employees expected to maintain an orderly work area and follow all facility guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tolleson, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
