Program Supervisor Job Description
Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, managing a team of production, quality and material staff, and ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires a balance of technical manufacturing knowledge and strong leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning: Translate demand data into actionable production plans that drive maximum volume.
- Operational Oversight: Coordinate daily workflow to meet production schedules. Monitor throughput, identify bottlenecks, and adjust resource allocation to maintain optimal efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production personnel. Conduct performance reviews, manage shift schedules, and handle conflict resolution or disciplinary actions as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols and OSHA regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure the team maintains a clean, hazard-free work environment (5S). Ensure all start up checks are completed and notify management of any abnormalities immediately.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality department to ensure all products meet customer specifications. Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Process Improvement: Lead or participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma) to reduce waste, decrease downtime, and improve overall operational costs.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production outputs, labor hours, and equipment downtime. Report daily KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to the Plant Manager.
- Any other tasks assigned by plant manager.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain preferred.
- Experience: 3--5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.
- Leadership: Proven ability to motivate teams and drive a culture of accountability.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot mechanical issues or logistical delays.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.

Preferred Skills
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Nachi/Kawasaki/OTC robots and welding processes (MIG, spot)
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift (8--12 hours).Exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, and industrial machinery.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime or weekends, depending on production needs.
