Maintenance Technical Lead – Industrial Automation
Overview / Summary:
The Maintenance Technical Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance and repair activities for automotive testing equipment, facility equipment, and buildings to support ongoing operations. This role leads a small multi-trade maintenance team, ensures compliance with applicable regulations, and drives maintenance strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement, and review maintenance and repair activities
Oversee and direct a small multi-trade maintenance crew to complete tasks safely and on time
Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, applicable codes, and corporate policies
Develop maintenance strategies, programs, and improvements to existing policies
Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions
Manage environmental health and safety conformance for skilled trades
Oversee preventative maintenance programs for equipment and facilities
Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability
Maintain accurate records for timekeeping, vacation, and time off requests
Act as point of contact for janitorial services contracts
Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups
Procure parts, materials, and rentals required for maintenance tasks
Track performance metrics such as preventative maintenance completion and overtime
Maintain strong relationships with internal customers and external suppliers
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving experience
Goal-oriented self-starter with leadership capability
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop skilled trade employees
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
