Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a manufacturing environment by managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as performing general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in a part-time role, working around 20 hours per week, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process invoices for accounts receivable, including applying payments and managing deposits.
• Enter accounts payable invoices, match them to purchase orders, and ensure accurate accrual of freight costs.
• Generate proposed payment lists based on invoice due dates and assist with payment processing via checks and other methods.
• Reconcile production settlements and manage internal payments, submitting summary reports as needed.
• Support month-end financial activities, including tracking accounts payable and receivable cutoffs and assisting with journal entries.
• Assist in generating weekly dashboards and ad hoc financial reports to support decision-making.
• Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, document scanning, and correspondence handling.
• Coordinate travel arrangements and procure office and plant supplies to support operational needs.
• Monitor adherence to company policies and safety requirements while maintaining confidentiality.
• Cross-train with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Logistics, to provide backup support.
Requirements • Proven experience with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice preparation and payment application.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and other accounting software to manage financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
• Ability to generate reports and assist with month-end financial tasks, including journal entries.
• Solid communication and organizational skills to manage administrative tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with general office equipment and processes, such as scanning, archiving, and correspondence.
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
• Experience in a manufacturing or similar industry is preferred.
