Overview

As a Senior Data Analyst - Retail Media within Publicis Groupe Japan, you will play a critical role in expanding our Retail Media and commerce analytics capabilities to support client revenue growth on eCommerce platforms, such as Amazon.

This is a senior individual contributor role, focused on leveraging Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) and retail media data to deliver custom measurement, insights, and actionable recommendations across advertising and retail performance.

You will work closely with media planners, strategists, and client stakeholders, acting as a bridge between advanced analytics and business decision-making. The role is highly client-facing, requiring strong storytelling skills and the ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

What you will do with us:

  • Design and deliver custom analyses using Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), combining ads exposure data with retail outcomes to answer complex client business questions

  • Use SQL to extract, transform, and analyze large-scale retail and media datasets

  • Translate insights into clear recommendations for media strategy, audience targeting, budget allocation, and retail growth

  • Present findings and recommendations directly to senior client stakeholders, aligning insights to business objectives

  • Develop repeatable analytical frameworks and dashboards to support Retail Media reporting and ongoing optimization

Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, including complex joins, aggregations, and performance-optimized queries

  • Experience working with Retail Media and eCommerce data; exposure to Amazon Marketing Cloud is strongly preferred

  • Solid understanding of digital advertising and retail media metrics, and how media levers impact commerce outcomes

  • Experience delivering client-facing analysis, with the ability to clearly explain insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and executive-level reporting

  • Experience with Python and statistical modeling

  • Business-level Japanese (speaking and writing)

  • Business-level English: Preferred but not mandatory
