Overview
The head of Commerce is a new and key role within Publicis Media Japan. The role has been created to transform our Japan Commerce end-to-end offering. Leading a broad spectrum of talents from media, content, operations and analytics, the head of Commerce is responsible for leading the strategic direction, operations, and growth of Commerce within in Japan. This leadership position drives growth and excellence in Japan, fosters a culture of innovation, and ensures alignment with Publicis Media’s global vision and objectives.
The head of Commerce is also responsible for driving our commerce practice, driving growth through pitches, upsell to existing clients and foster senior Commerce client relationships. The head of Commerce will collaborate with the other channel leads and Publicis Media clients leadership to make sure they are solving for their business and client needs while delivering on the wider commercial targets.
Key Accountability:
Strategic Leadership : Define and implement the strategic direction forCommerce, ensuring alignment with globalobjectivesand addressinglocal market dynamics.
Client Relationships : Build and nurture senior-level relationships with keyCommerceclients, ensuring that theirCommerceobjectivesare met and exceeded.
Solutions : Accountable for building and scaling our Commerceofferingacross media, content,operationsand analytics.Therole also ensures ownership of our owned and borrowed platforms, as well as localpartnersi.e.Amazon & Rakuten.
Team Development & Culture: Lead, mentor, and grow the commerce teams, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Operational Excellence: Ensure that the markets deliver high-quality services consistently across the region.
Financial Management : Accountable for themarket’sCommercerevenue target
Business Development: Drive new business efforts, fromidentifyingopportunities to leading pitches and onboarding new clients.
Innovation & Thought Leadership : Champion the adoption ofcutting-edgedigital strategies, tools, and technologies, positioning Performics as a leader in theCommercespace.
Collaboration : Collaborate closely with theregion,specializedteamsand otherdivisionswithin the Groupe to deliver integrated solutions to clients.

Improving the performance ofJapanby monitoring key metrics such as revenue growth, pitches conversion, product adoption,talent attraction and retention,commercial growth rate.
The Criteria
At least10+years of experience working within or around theCommerceecosystem with a proventrack recordof running a regional or global business
Strong understanding of theCommerceindustry, pipeline management, client acquisition and client management, this role will require high technicalproficiency.
Strategic thinker,can create a storyline that compels the prospectto workwith the agency brand in question.
Extreme time management & organization, can manage multiple complex activities at once
Can thrive during peak periods of deadline-oriented activity with professionalism and composure.

Expansive Network of industry leaders and top tier client stakeholder inJapanto drive lead generation
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, ora relatedfield.
Experience working with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
15+ yearsinindustry experience. The variance will depend on practical skills obtained, the amount of experience in a maturemarketand education qualifications.
Deep understanding of the entireJapanese commerceecosystem,with a focus on Amazon and Rakuten
Understanding ofdata basedmarketing and the changes thathasonthe media planning process
Ability to present to all levels clients as well as global and regional clients and internal stakeholders
The ideal candidate will be able to inspire the team and clients with their knowledge and passion for media
Must be fluent in Japanese and be able to speak English at a presentation and business level
