Lanier Air Products Service Technician (Service Tech) in Toccoa, Georgia

Job Title:

Service Technician

Summary:

Provides all maintenance and service requirements on compressed air system components, including installation, preventative maintenance and repair.

Duties and Responsibilities

:

  1. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.

  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with the appropriate equipment to determine most efficient course of action.

  3. Travel daily to customer locations to complete repairs in a timely manner.

  4. Recommend and explain additional repairs as appropriate.

  5. Document service and repair activities by completing service orders, maintenance checklists, time sheets and expense reports accurately, neatly and timely.

  6. Respond to customer inquiries by providing product and price information as requested.

  7. Follow all standard operating procedures of the company.

  8. Comply with proper safety procedures and regulations at all times.

  9. Maintain all company equipment in good, clean condition.

  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, wiring schematics and diagrams. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheet software.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical college degree preferred.

Specialized Training/Experience:

Minimum of two years experience in compressed air systems maintenance or mechanical environment. Refrigeration certification and experience a substantial benefit.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid drivers license.

Satisfactory driving record, drug test and background check.

Equipment:

Must supply own mechanics tools to perform job duties.

Company to provide service vehicle, cell phone and specialty tools.

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

Work Environment:

The employee will be working in a field service environment at customers job sites. The employee is occasionally exposed to work conditions in extreme temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, loud environments and elevated work areas. The employee will be required to participate in rotating on-call emergency duties, as well as occasional overtime to meet customers needs.
