Moyer Aviation Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania

Summary:

As an A&P, you will conduct aircraft maintenance, repairs and upgrades, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the highest levels of safety and reliability. You will assist with developing and mentoring apprentice mechanics. Your role involves ensuring safe and efficient maintenance operations, collaborating with other company departments, and delivering exceptional customer service.

 

A&P Responsibilities:

  • Conduct aircraft maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to maintenance customers.
  • Assist the Director of Aircraft Maintenance in managing and overseeing aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance programs and schedules to ensure the timely and efficient servicing of the aircraft fleet.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to mechanic apprentices, ensuring proper training, certification, and performance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including flight operations, flight school, and aircraft management, to optimize aircraft maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, and modifications, in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Coordinate with external maintenance vendors and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance services.
  • Stay informed about advancements in aircraft technology, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements, and implement best practices as appropriate.
  • Pursue Inspection Authorization (I/A) certification.

A&P Qualifications:

  • A&P certification Required
  • Must have minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance practices for various types of aircraft.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, including FAA/EASA requirements and industry standards.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Other Requirements for A&P:

  • Maintain A&P certification through continuing education and recurrent training.
  • Be available for occasional on-call and after-hours maintenance needs.
  • Pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Comply with company and FAA alcohol & drug policies.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in office, hangar, ramp, and outdoor environments
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and aircraft maintenance platforms
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces, including aircraft compartments
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead as required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally (as operationally required)
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in noisy environments (hangars, flight line)
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for handling tools, documents, and computer equipment
  • Ability to visually inspect aircraft, components, & documentation, including close & distance vision
