Join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Deputy Sheriff, where you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and supporting community well-being. Duties

  • Enforce local, state, and federal laws by patrolling assigned areas to deter and respond to criminal activity
  • Conduct thorough criminal investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare detailed reports
  • Respond swiftly to emergency calls, accidents, and disturbances, providing first aid or CPR as needed
  • Perform surveillance operations to monitor suspicious activity and ensure public safety
  • Manage conflict situations with professionalism and tact to de-escalate potential threats
  • Assist in animal handling and care during incidents involving animals or animal-related law violations
  • Write comprehensive reports documenting incidents, investigations, arrests, and other law enforcement activities
  • Drive patrol vehicles safely while maintaining awareness of surroundings and potential hazards
  • Support community outreach programs to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and residents

Experience

  • Prior experience in law enforcement or military service is highly desirable
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage stressful situations effectively
  • Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques and law enforcement procedures
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, and surveillance operations preferred
  • Experience in conflict management and loss prevention strategies is advantageous
  • Ability to handle animals responsibly during related incidents or investigations
  • Strong report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with immigration law or security protocols is a plus

Requirements

  • O.P.O.T.A Certification
  • 21 years of age or older
  • H.S. graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • No felony convictions
  • Good moral character
  • Pass full background investigation
  • Pass polygraph/Psychological
  • Pass physical/drug test
