TEKsystems Health Care Customer Service Representative in Thousand Oaks, California

Entry-Level | Call Center / Production Environment

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Health Care Customer Service Representative to support members and health plans in a fast-paced, production-driven call center environment. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of healthcare experience who have a strong understanding of HMO insurance and enjoy delivering high-quality customer support over the phone.

This position requires the ability to manage high call volumes (50+ calls per day) while maintaining accurate documentation and meeting quality and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and handle high-volume inbound calls through multiple phone queues from members and health plan representatives

  • Address a wide range of inquiries including eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and general healthcare-related questions

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of HMO insurance plans and healthcare processes

  • Accurately document call details and case notes in internal systems while maintaining compliance and quality standards

  • Maintain productivity benchmarks of 50+ calls per day with corresponding documentation

  • Perform administrative support tasks such as scanning, filing, faxing, and data entry

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve member issues efficiently and effectively

  • Uphold HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times

Required Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of healthcare experience (medical office, health plan, or healthcare call center preferred)

  • Previous experience in a production-based or call center environment

  • 2+ years of customer service experience (healthcare industry strongly preferred)

  • Strong understanding of HMO insurance and healthcare terminology

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems while on live calls

This is a Contract position based out of Thousand Oaks, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
