What you will do

In this vital role you will be a part of a central digital product management team and report to the Sr Director Digital Product Management Hub, serving as the enterprise center for enablement, standards, and adoption of the Digital Product Model. You will be responsible for championing and driving Amgen’s shift from projects to products, embedding product ways of working, outcome driven delivery, and scalable digital enablement across teams through both enterprise leadership and hands on product execution. In addition to be a member of the Hub, this role retains direct product execution responsibilities when needed for one or more priority digital products or product groups, operating as a player coach. You will partner closely with the Sr Director Digital Product Management Hub to translate enterprise digital and AI strategy into scalable product management standards, capabilities, and success measures.You will execute and operationalize the tracking of enterprise level OKRs and KPIs related to adoption, maturity, and scaling of the Digital Product Operating Model. You lead and provide training, upskilling, governance, and measurement required to embed product ways of working across all business functions and enabling organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Operating Model Execution & Product Leadership
Operationalize and continuously improve Amgen’s Digital Product Operating Model within assigned domains, product groups, or functions
Implement enterprise standards, playbooks, lifecycle practices, and governance within product teams
Act as a senior practitioner and role model for Digital Product Management, leading by example
Translate enterprise digital and AI strategy into actionable roadmaps, delivery plans, and team-level operating structures
Partner with business and enabling functions to embed product practices in local teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
Lead one or more digital products or product groups, accountable for delivery outcomes, value realization, and adherence to product standards
Identify gaps or friction in current operating practices and provide structured feedback to evolve standards
Training, Upskilling & Capability Development
Lead implementation of product training, onboarding, and upskilling programs for Digital Product Managers (DPMs)
Coach Senior DPMs and DPMs through discovery, prioritization, AI-enabled delivery, and outcome measurement
Facilitate product reviews, roadmap critiques, and working sessions to reinforce best practices
Contribute to and actively participate in the Product Community of Practice
Use owned products as demonstration examples of strong discovery, prioritization, AI-native delivery, and measurable outcomes
Identify capability gaps and recommend enhancements to enterprise training programs
Adoption, Measurement & Performance Management
Drive adoption of the Digital Product Operating Model across assigned product groups
Track product-level OKRs and KPIs aligned to enterprise standards
Monitor product maturity, adoption metrics, delivery velocity, and value realization
Surface insights and risks to Senior Director and leadership, with data-backed recommendations
Support portfolio investment discussions through structured performance reporting
Leadership & Change Enablement
Champion outcome-driven, product-centric ways of working within business and technology teams
Influence cross-functional stakeholders to adopt product thinking and data-driven prioritization
Model strong prioritization, decision-making, and trade-off management in active product work
Support enterprise change initiatives by translating strategy into practical implementation

Basic Qualifications
Product Mindset & Experience:
Proven “T-shaped” digital product leader, equally fluent in business strategy, customer experience, and digital technology.
Experience embedding AI-enabled, data-driven, and outcome-oriented PDLC practices
Operates with a strong customer-first mindset, balancing insight, creativity, and evidence-based decision-making.
Advanced knowledge of Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies and tools, with experience embedding agile practices at scale.
Skilled in designing and evolving end-to-end product strategies, from discovery through launch, ensuring usability, feasibility, and viability
Strong understanding of technology ecosystems, data platforms, and digital architecture principles.
Leadership & Interpersonal:
Demonstrated ability to lead and scale product teams or product groups.
Experience setting product strategy and aligning executive stakeholders across functions
Demonstrated strength in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence senior leaders and align diverse teams toward a common vision
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business narratives.
Experience mentoring or managing product managers and developing future leaders in digital product disciplines.
Education:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of technology and/or product management experience
Masters degree and 8 years of technology and/or product management experience
Bachelor degree and 10 years of technology and/or product management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 8+ years of product management experience,.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of clinical trial operations, regulatory pathways, and biopharma commercialization strategies. Demonstrable ability to define and meet KPIs with AI/ML driven capabilities.
Fluency in AI-native product development, including generative AI workflows, structured grounding, agentic capabilities, and responsible AI principles.
