Responsible for leading the Field Account Pricing department and establishing appropriate pricing to achieve profitability for Field customers. The Field Pricing Manager will work closely with many cross-functional teams across the organization and will need to translate pricing information to a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative leadership skills and the ability to drive change and improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform detailed analysis on account profitability and participate in group analysis
Manage team workload, accuracy, and prioritization of accounts
Partner with Field Sales Directors to negotiate pricing and contracts
Develop relationships with Sales and customers
Support Pricing, Sales, Operations, and other functions within the company on customer profitability
Trouble shoot system/process errors and develop solutions
Participate in conference calls and meetings throughout the RFP and Bid processes
Negotiate directly with Solutions Specialist, Sales Directors, and Regional VP’s
Provide continuous training to employees and ensure metrics are met
Interact with senior management and act as liaison between customers and senior management to resolve customer issues
Evaluate current processes, systems and structure and implement changes to improve process efficiency
Project support on an ad-hoc basis
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma required
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience
Required Experience:
5+ years of pricing and profitability experience in the transportation industry; preferably LTL
Employee management experience highly preferred
Knowledge of LTL rates including base rates, classes, weight breaks, FAKs, discounts, etc.
Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening skills
Ability to deal with different types of personalities and effectively handle high-stress situations in a calm manner
Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
Proven negotiation abilities
Proficiency with Office programs, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
