Experienced Quality Engineer with extensive background in ISO 9001:2015 quality systems within manufacturing and defense industry environments. Proven ability to maintain compliant Quality Management Systems, lead audits, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Achievements
Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership: Managed and continuously improved the company’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, including maintaining the Quality Manual, procedures, and work instructions to ensure ongoing compliance and operational effectiveness.
Audit Management: Led internal audit programs as a certified lead auditor and served as the primary contact for external certification bodies and regulatory agencies during third-party audits and inspections.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action: Investigated customer complaints and non-conformances using structured root cause analysis methods, collaborating with engineering and production teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement: Promoted a culture of operational excellence by identifying process inefficiencies and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Supplier Quality Management: Evaluated supplier performance, conducted supplier audits, and ensured incoming materials consistently met technical and specification requirements.
Team Leadership: Supervised and mentored a team of 2–3 quality inspectors, ensuring adherence to inspection standards, documentation accuracy, and quality objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical) preferred.
5–10+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, with strong focus on ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferred.
Experience working with military specifications (MIL-SPEC) and defense-related quality requirements.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
