TRIO Dual Program Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The TRIO Dual Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in planning, development, coordination, and implementation of student support services for first-generation, low-income, and other eligible students served through the Educational Talent Search Program.

Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding, compliance with federal regulations, satisfactory performance, and institutional approval.

MAJOR DUTIES

· Implements daily program operations to ensure achievement of approved grant goals and objectives for Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound Programs;

· Collaborates with high school partners, community agencies, and postsecondary institutions to develop and implement strategies and services that increase high school graduation, postsecondary enrollment, and college persistence rates of program participants;

· Promotes awareness of program purpose and available services to schools, families, and the community;

· Assists with identification, selection, intake, and eligibility determination of program participants in compliance with federal guidelines;

· Coordinates and/or provides academic advising, college and career counseling, financial aid guidance, and other supportive services to program participants;

· Collaborates with appropriate personnel to coordinate placement testing, academic monitoring, and dual enrollment registration;

· Plans, coordinates, delivers, and manages after-school, weekend, and summer programming for participants and families;

· Organizes and participates in college tours, field trips, academic enrichment activities, and experiential learning opportunities;

· Collects, maintains, and analyzes program data to monitor participant progress and ensure achievement of grant performance objectives;

· Maintains accurate and confidential participant records, including eligibility documentation, academic performance data, services provided, financial aid status, and postsecondary enrollment outcomes;

· Participates in professional development activities to enhance knowledge of TRIO Program regulations and federal grant compliance requirements, best practices, and strategies to improve program participant access, retention, and success.

· Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development; and

· Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

· Knowledge of high school graduation requirements, college admissions, financial aid processes, U.S. Department of Education TRIO program regulations, and federal grant compliance requirements

· Skill in interpersonal relations with students, families, school administration, and community partners

· Skill in the use of computers, job-related software, student data systems, and social media platforms

· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across programs and service locations

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

· Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or independently

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree and Two (2) years of work experience in a secondary or post-secondary education environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the Minimum Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree in Education or a related field

· Three (3) years of experience working with TRIO programs, similar outreach programs, or low-income first-generation populations

· Experience in curriculum design, program development, and implementation

· Experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting academic and career assessment inventories

· Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

· TRIO program alumni and/or teaching certification
