General Shale, Inc., the nation’s leading manufacturer of brick and masonry materials, is seeking a Day Shift Machine Operator to join our Terre Haute, Indiana manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with manufacturing experience who can operate automated equipment safely and efficiently while supporting plant operations.
Position Overview:
The Day Shift Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated manufacturing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting production goals in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role requires independence, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in varying temperatures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate automated manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
Perform cleaning and preventative maintenance duties
Work independently to meet production goals
Utilize basic computer skills to support production tracking and reporting
Assist with continuous improvement and housekeeping initiatives
Qualifications:
GED or High School Diploma required; two-year degree a plus
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Valid Indiana driver’s license and reliable transportation
Prior forklift experience or mechanical aptitude preferred
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in hot or cold environments
Schedule:
- Day shift, full-time
Compensation:
- Starting pay from $18.00 per hour
