Lazy T Ranch, LLC FARM/IRRIGATION/ LIVESTOCK WORKER in Ten Sleep, Wyoming

Applicants must have 2 months experience with farm and irrigation work and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance. Applicants hired must be able to obtain a valid Drivers License as driving on public roads may be required.
Crops/Commodities: hay (alfalfa, grass and oat), barley, sudan grass, and cattle. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of hay (alfalfa, grass and oat), barley, sudan grass, and cattle for the majority of the workdays in the overall contract period.
General Farm Work will include the following responsibilities: Maintain, drive, attach, and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize, and harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; may mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; operate lawn mower, weed eater, chainsaw to maintain farm grounds; trim and remove trees; remove rocks from field; paint/repair/maintain farm structures; build/replace/repair/maintain fencing; perform general cleanup of farm areas; drive, load/unload farm trucks; drive to local supply retailers to pick up and/or deliver parts/feed/supplies/equipment/ livestock; operate vehicle, motor bike, or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties. Must possess or be able to obtain a Class C Drivers' License. Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may drive company vehicles. Workers with appropriate licenses may transport other workers to-and-from employer provided housing directly to worksites each day and transporting workers between employer worksites during the workday and possibly carrying equipment/supplies and this may involve the worker(s) operating the vehicles across public roads in order to reach the other farm properties to perform their work. Workers are driving multi-purpose vehicles that have a capacity of less than 13 tons, require a standard driver's license to operate, may be used on or off farm by the workers (e.g., drive to the grocery store, bank, etc. at their discretion). Workers are not required or expected to arrange for the routine pick-up of another worker or groups of workers on a regular schedule at other housing locations or centralized pick-up points.
Irrigation duties will include the following: Wheel lines: start gasoline engines and operate controls to move lines across fields at specified intervals; maintain/repair as needed.
Pivots: operate, maintain, and repair system.
Flood Irrigation: lift gate in side of flooded irrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flow into bordered section of field; shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cut trenches in high areas to direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipe when bordered section is flooded; open gate or connect pipe to underground pipe system that releases water flow into reservoir or ditch; install/remove/maintain canvas dams; shovel or hoe soil to clear ditches/furrows and build embankments to appropriately channel water; mix and apply proper solutions to fill holes/cracks in pipes, ditches, and spillways, and make minor repairs to metal, concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipe and ditch valves and gates.
Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheel lines from storage and lay out/place in predetermined patterns in fields; lubricate, adjust, repair, and replace parts such as sprinkler heads and drive chains using hand tools; observe revolving sprinklers and adjust to ensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water; disasse ble, service, and store pipes/mainlines/wheel lines after irrigation season.
Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: apply or administer medications, vaccines and/or insecticides; mix feed/additives and feed/water livestock; place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock; clean/disinfect livestock stalls/corrals/sheds; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck; transport livestock.
Instruction, training, and general supervision will be provided by the farm operator or a designated employee. However, the worker must perform required duties without close supervision and listen to, understand, and follow simple instructions of the employer or supervisor.
The worker will be required to return worn out tools, supplies, and equipment before new ones will be provided. Job opportunity is Skill Level I. All primary duties are entry-level and require close supervision and/or a short demonstration of the task by a more experienced worker.
Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. Job duties may require split shifts such as 5:00 to 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., and/or straight shifts such as 600 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. depending on crop or livestock/ranch needs. Extended hours may be required during peak production periods. The worker may be offered work seven days a week, as farmwork must be performed seven days a week. TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies. Employer may terminate a worker for cause if the worker's performance consistently and/or substantially fails to satisfy the employer's reasonable expectations (in accordance with the criteria set forth herein), or otherwise engages in serious or egregious misconduct that endangers health, safety, or property. In assessing whether workers' performance meets reasonable expectations, employer evaluates, among other reasonable criteria, whether the worker: (1) has adequately complied with the Work Rules and any other policies or procedures; (2) has complied with all health and safety guidelines, including the use of tools or equipment in accordance with best practices to protect the employer's property, crops, and in a manner that avoids injury or damage; (3) has treated company property (tools, equipment, crops, fixtures, etc. ), with care and respect, avoiding damage or improper cleanliness or maintenance standards; (4) has timely and consistently followed instructions duly communicated by supervisors, crew leaders, and management personnel; (5) has complied with the employer's quality control standards for ensuring a marketable product; (6) is not repeatedly tardy or absent, has reported to work at the time and place instructed, and remained at work for the agreed-upon work hours, unless such absence was excused or the worker timely communicated and sought approval for any deviation from such schedule; (7) has consistently performed the duties assigned, in the manner instructed, and has not purposefully malingered or acted in a recalcitrant manner (i.e., refusing without cause to perform certain duties, refused to follow instructions, performed work in in a careless or reckless manner that poses a risk to the employer's crops/commodities, company property, or the health/safety of others, etc.).
