Job Summary
The Clinic Operations Manager 1 coordinates all activities across multi‑site physician offices, clinics, and other patient care areas to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care and compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards. A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience is preferred. This role requires demonstrated aptitude in training, teaching, and coaching direct reports to promote staff development, operational consistency, and excellence across all locations.
Two Specialties: Gastroenterology and Genetics
Multiple locations in Temple and Waco
Essential Functions of the Role
Manages daily activities in a physician office, clinic or other patient care facility to ensure efficient office operations.
Coordinates staffing, coverage and procedures to ensure needs of the facility are met in a timely and effective manner.
Develops, reviews, revises, submits and implements policies, procedures, and priorities for practice that are aligned to the organization's targets.
Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels, and recommends termination of assigned employees.
Approves and contributes to in-service education programs for assigned team members.
Submits invoices to accounts payable, monitors cash collections, and coordinates accounts receivable management.
Communicates with various departments to coordinate services, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of patient care.
Provides information to physicians, community groups, and referral agencies about programs provided by practices.
Investigates, resolves and documents resolution of patient complaints.
Trains, teaches, and coaches direct reports to promote ongoing staff development, ensure operational consistency, and drive operational excellence across all clinic locations.
Key Success Factors
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
5 years clinical experience preferred.
Strong aptitude for training, coaching, and mentoring leaders and staff, with a focus on leadership development, succession planning, and performance improvement.
Proven ability to manage change effectively, including implementation of new workflows, systems, or organizational initiatives in a clinical environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of ambulatory clinical operations, including staffing models, scheduling optimization, patient access, and provider support.
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical leaders, and administrative partners to achieve organizational goals and improve care delivery.
Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and quality standards applicable to outpatient and specialty clinic operations.
Demonstrated financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, expense management, and resource allocation.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced healthcare environment while maintaining attention to detail and accountability.
Demonstrated leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness in team development strategies.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and balance team and person workloads through effective time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
Able to travel as required.
