Job Title: Welder Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and building heavy industrial parts for dump trucks and trailers from the ground up. You will safely and efficiently install, weld, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, ensuring high-quality, production-ready vehicles.
Responsibilities
Assemble and build heavy industrial components for dump trucks and trailers from start to finish.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical components on dump trucks and trailers.
Perform steel and aluminum welding using wire feed (MIG) welding techniques.
Install consoles, pumps, tanks, saddles, and other large assemblies on vehicles.
Complete electric and hydraulic connections and plumbing, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and related components.
Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including basic air systems and operations.
Perform body electrical outfitting, including wiring and electrical connections as required.
Interpret and follow blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation to complete assemblies accurately.
Use hand tools and power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, grinders, air tools, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
Perform mechanical assembly tasks, including wrenching and fitting components to specifications.
Support production goals by working efficiently within a mechanic and machine shop environment.
Bend, stretch, kneel, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed to perform repairs, installations, and inspections.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a mechanical field, including work with hydraulic system repairs such as pumps, valves, and cylinders.
Proficiency in steel and aluminum welding, including wire feed (MIG) welding techniques.
Experience with mechanical assembly, preferably in an automotive or similar heavy equipment environment.
Ability to install and troubleshoot mechanical components on dump trucks, trailers, or comparable equipment.
Basic understanding of air systems and pneumatic operations.
Hands-on experience with electric and hydraulic connections and plumbing.
Comfort with electrical troubleshooting and basic body electrical outfitting.
Strong wrenching experience and general mechanical aptitude.
Proficient use of hand tools and power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, grinders, and air tools.
Ability to read and follow blueprints and production documentation.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Physical ability to bend, stretch, kneel, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds as required by the job.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in assembly within the automotive industry or heavy vehicle manufacturing is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with large assembly installations such as tanks, saddles, and similar components.
Experience working in a production-focused mechanic or machine shop environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, safe work.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a production team.
Comfort working with grinders, wrenches, and a variety of hand and power tools in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment
This position is based in a mechanic and machine shop environment focused on heavy industrial dump trucks and trailers. You will work a day shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., using a variety of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic wrenches, grinders, air tools, and welding equipment. The work is physically active and involves standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The environment is production-oriented, with regular use of mechanical, welding, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment typical of a busy fabrication and assembly shop.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
