Team Overview:
Edward Jones Generations® is the firm's Private Wealth organization providing a sophisticated, holistic wealth management experience to high net worth (HNW) and ultra-HNW clients. The team is comprised of leaders and wealth management professionals across a spectrum of disciplines that partner with our financial advisors to deliver comprehensive services including advanced financial planning, investment management, tax and estate planning, trust services, banking, insurance and charitable giving strategies.
What You Will Do:
The EJ Generations Sr. Director of Operations leads operational execution and planning for our Private Wealth organization. Responsibilities include design and management of processes/workflow, continuous business planning & budgeting, performance reporting and coordination of firm stakeholder partnerships. This role leads a team of professionals responsible for business practices, controls and deliverables that drive value delivery to clients and overall business productivity and growth.
This includes accountability for business results such as project management and process implementation, as well as operational efficiency metrics, along with partnering with other Private Wealth and enterprise leaders/groups to deliver on strategic initiatives and goals.
This role has responsibility and accountability for driving the ongoing design and development of our private wealth offerings in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders; partnering with senior leaders and key stakeholders to prioritize expanding private wealth capabilities and supporting infrastructure buildout to deliver on the Generations experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with Private Wealth leaders to design and implement strategies and operating procedures that support execution, efficiency, productivity and growth in alignment with business goals.
Set strategy for, and execution of, the EJ Generations operating structure to ensure efficiency and excellence within our Generations teams' performance.
Drive the ongoing design and development of a scalable, tailored business workflow in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders based on client and branch insights.
Lead the organization and facilitation of Private Wealth leadership meetings with an effective approach to business development, productivity and results.
Lead operational execution, budgeting, performance reporting/measurement, project coordination, vendor partnerships, business planning and other key operating processes for the Edward Jones Generations.
Attract, develop, and lead a team of high performing associates. Assist in their ongoing growth and personal and professional development.
Serve as a conduit between Generations and the Segment (managing planning, change budgeting, contractor relationships, etc.) as well as lead the connectivity across various firm stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Digital). This will also include reporting, event coordination, resource management and many other responsibilities that drive the operational effectiveness needed to run the business.
Influence, and negotiate with, other senior leaders/General Partners; establish collaborative relationships across the business and with external organizations.
Accountable for developing and recommending risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and effectiveness of Generations while minimizing risk to clients and the firm. Identify, monitor and manage the various regulatory obligations that apply to an organization, with the aim to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and industry requirements.
Serve as subject matter expert for Private Wealth management at the firm. Includes advanced knowledge of all aspects of planning and our firm's advice and guidance beyond goals and inclusive of various wealth management capabilities such as financial planning, portfolio management, banking, pricing, etc.

Hiring Minimum: $144000
Hiring Maximum: $245100
- Skills/Requirements
What Experience You Need:
Bachelors degree required, advanced degree preferred
10+ years of relevant wealth management experience required, private wealth industry experience desired
Series 7, 66 required or acquired within 6 months of hire
Series 24 licenses required or acquired within 1 year of hire
CFP and/or CFA strongly desired
Experience and track record of success leading wealth management functions and professionals, including coaching and development
Experience with accountability for leading business development and results
Proficiency coordinating stakeholder groups within a complex organization
Strong communication skills and executive presence
Experience leading functional planning and resource coordination/management within a complex wealth management organization
Deep, expansive subject matter expertise on wealth management industry
Deep understanding of firm advice and guidance
Advanced skills in some of the following areas: systems thinking, planning and organizing, relationship building, collaboration, critical thinking, project management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases and wealth management software tools (i.e., Aladdin Wealth, Morningstar, FactSet, MGEI and II, Wealth Studios, etc.)

CFP/CFA and other wealth management designations
15+ years of relevant experience
Experience in business design or execution within private wealth organizations
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status . Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
