Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
2 years of experience with compilers, compiler based engines or transpilers.
2 years of experience with database administration and understanding database internals.
2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and its security offerings.

Database Migration Service (DMS) is the gateway to customers' data migration to Google Cloud. It is the tool to understand their database migration path, perform migrations quickly and easily with maximum fidelity and minimal downtime, and validate the success of their process so they can keep the business moving.
Seamless database migration to the cloud is viewed as a strategic effort and is absolutely critical for continuous growth of Google Cloud and as such DMS is critical for Google Cloud's overall success.

Responsibilities
Build and extend the SQL service and engine development.
Analyze SQL problems and develop solutions including new engine improvements such as new semantic parsers, transformers, and emitters.
Be part of a highly innovative team working on generative AI efforts across DMS team.
Provide architecture guidance and principals for junior engineers as we evolve quickly in a very dynamic, and organizational environment.
Partner with technical leadership in related organizations to chart a shared path forward that balances both the short and long-term needs, ensuring reliable and flexible system foundations.
