Aerotek Production Associate in Taylor, Michigan
Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description
The Production Associate plays a key role in manufacturing and assembling custom residential windows and door walls within a high-volume production facility. You rotate through different sub-assembly areas, learn multiple tasks over time, and contribute to a smooth, efficient production line while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Manufacture and assemble windows and door walls in one or more production areas, including Shipping & Receiving, Frames, Sashes, and Doorwall/Casements.
Measure and cut vinyl, glass, and other materials accurately according to specifications.
Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift, especially in the window-building area.
Use hand tools to perform assembly tasks, including hammering, fastening, and adjusting parts as needed.
Punch holes in materials and strip materials as required for assembly processes.
Place flexible glass onto frames and ensure proper fit and alignment.
Perform repetitive movements such as grasping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and bending to keep the production line running efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including stocking materials and cleaning general areas as needed.
Follow all safety guidelines and work instructions while meeting production quotas in a fast-paced environment.
Participate in ongoing cross-training on different sub-assemblies throughout the facility as skills and experience grow.
Potentially operate machinery such as saws or welding equipment once hired directly by the company (not while on contract).
Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall production goals.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively for the majority of the shift (at least 6 out of 8 hours).
Demonstrated experience in a role that required frequent lifting of 50 pounds or more during most of the workday.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and the ability to safely hold and handle tools such as hammers and similar equipment (training provided on specific use).
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment where meeting quotas or production targets is required.
Experience working in settings that required standing for an entire 8-hour shift or longer.
Ability to stand, bend, twist, and squat throughout the shift without difficulty.
Comfort working in a hot, noisy production environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality to support production schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately is a strong plus.
Previous experience in production, general labor, assembly, or general manufacturing environments is beneficial.
Using basic power tools or packaging and material handling is helpful.
Comfort with repetitive tasks and following standardized work instructions.
Willingness to learn new sub-assembly tasks and rotate between different areas of the facility.
Why Work Here?
You join a stable, long-established manufacturing company that invests in your growth and development. Once hired directly, you can earn performance-based raises every six months for three years, creating a clear path for steady pay progression. The environment encourages cross-training, allowing you to build new skills across multiple production areas and expand your experience. Break policies are reasonable and respectful, giving you flexibility for water and restroom breaks as long as production goals are met. You work a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends, supporting work-life balance while still providing opportunities for overtime when needed.
Work Environment
This role is based inside a manufacturing facility where temperatures fluctuate with the seasons and can be hot, cold, humid, or dry, similar to working in a large garage. The building has very large doors that open to create airflow when it is warm, and fans are positioned throughout the facility to help with temperature control. The noise level is moderate, and the production areas are well lit. The break room is air conditioned, and employees can use it for breaks and lunch; during very hot periods, coolers of Gatorade are provided in the break room. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the expectation to stay until the work is completed, which is typically around 2:30 p.m., resulting in an average of 40–50 hours per week and rarely more than 50 hours. Employees receive one 10-minute break in the morning and a 1-hour lunch, and they may leave the premises during lunch. The culture around short bathroom and water breaks is relaxed, as long as production metrics and line flow are maintained. The work involves standing for the entire shift, frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and repetitive motions while handling materials and using tools in a busy production setting.
