Job Description:

Performs essential repairs and other duties as requested. Troubleshoots, tests, and repairs mechanical machinery, equipment, systems, and physical structures as scheduled or needed under general or limited supervision. Responds to in-house work orders and preventive maintenance tasks on a daily basis and in a timely manner. May be required to respond to emergency calls under general supervision. May be required to take call in accordance with facility requirements in a timely manner. Maintains complete and accurate records of all maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with healthcare, Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards. Responsible for keeping current on maintenance logs. Other duties as assigned. Replaces sheetrock, tapes and floats, paints all interior and exterior surfaces, and performs minor carpenter work. Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other property. Maintains existing paint surfaces by matching and tinting appropriate paint products. Properly stores, cleans, and disposes of all supplies and equipment used per departmental policies and procedures. Assists in the operation and general maintenance of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, locksmith, and alarm systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of various paints, chemicals and combinations available for use [Required]

• Able to communicate in English [Required]

• Must have the ability to document records neatly and accurately [Required]

• Ability to generate requisitions for materials and supplies [Required]

• Ability to assign priority and teams in a timely manner [Required]

• Ability to instruct others as per blueprints and work from sketches [Required]

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form [Required]

• Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals [Required]

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist [Required]

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes [Required]

• Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment [Required]

• Basic Microsoft office computer skills [Required]

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Preferred]
