Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We’re seeking a driven Project Engineer to support a large‑scale mechanical construction project focused on piping and equipment installation within a major campus expansion. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional who wants broad exposure to project execution—from estimating and procurement to field coordination and cost control. Position Overview
The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and project team with documentation, cost control, scheduling, and coordination across both office and field operations. This role plays a critical part in keeping work organized, costs tracked, materials flowing, and field activities aligned with project plans.
You will work closely with foremen, vendors, designers, and subcontractors while gaining hands‑on experience in piping systems, equipment installation, BIM coordination, and construction project management.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Controls & Documentation
Support the Project Manager and project team with daily project documentation, tracking, and coordination
Manage submittals from preparation through approval, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications
Prepare, submit, and track RFIs to support timely issue resolution
Maintain accurate logs for submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence
Cost Control & Procurement
Perform detailed material takeoffs to support estimating, purchasing, and cost tracking
Prepare, submit, and track change orders, ensuring scope, pricing, and approvals are properly documented
Track time‑and‑material tickets to support billing and job cost control
Obtain vendor quotes, prepare material purchase orders, and track deliveries
Maintain material and cost logs to support job cost accounting and forecasting
Assist with owner billings and support project accounting activities
Scheduling & Field Coordination
Support project scheduling efforts and help maintain schedule updates as work progresses
Coordinate daily and weekly work activities with foremen to align field execution with project plans
Monitor project progress and assist in identifying actions needed to maintain schedule and productivity
Attend job meetings, capture action items, and follow up on commitments
Technical & BIM Support
Review drawings using AutoCAD and Bluebeam to support coordination and constructability
Participate in BIM coordination meetings to support clash detection and piping/equipment coordination
Collaborate with field teams to resolve constructability and sequencing issues
Required Experience & Skills
1–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar role in construction
Experience supporting mechanical construction projects involving piping and equipment installation
Proficiency with Procore for project management and document control
Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam for drawing review and markups
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing and coordinating drawings
Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tarrytown, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
