Job Overview
This role involves allocating and balancing work across direct reports, providing timely performance feedback, and mentoring, developing, and motivating the team while resolving people or functional issues to achieve targeted results and retain key talent. It includes responsibility for the design and development of tooling and assembly processes for NPI, driving excellence in existing manufacturing technologies, and leading innovation and new technology development. The position supports Product Development through design optimization (DFM), PFMEA, design reviews, and the realization of sample tooling, product samples, and prototypes.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop, and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.
Responsible for the design and Development of Tooling/assembly processes on NPI.
Drive for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods.
Innovation and new manufacturing technologies development.
Support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM), PFMEA, and design review; realizes sample tooling, product samples, and prototypes.
Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet spec, quality, and production standards.
Integrate feedback and lessons learned into new tooling or NPI development.
Bridging product engineering and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
Maintain communication with the project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs.
Prioritize and time manage a portfolio of projects/work efforts based on criticality and business need.
Work with the Operations team to assign resources for the successful execution of NPI development.
Facilitate and coordinate cross-functional communication across the global organization.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's or above in mechanical/electrical engineering or related.
Comprehensive knowledge of process/tooling development experience, no less than 5 years working experience, which is preferred but not limited to manufacturing development of connectors, relays, switches, or other electrical components/devices.
Strong logic analysis and project management, good knowledge of manufacturing, and knowledge of fabrication, mold/die/assembly/plating are preferred.
Logic communication and opinion expression, obvious strategic thinking ability, and ability to speak fluent English.
Strong sense of teamwork and leadership through specific experience.
Willingness to travel (25% above).
What your background should look like
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
