The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

The Assistant Vice President of Quality Assurance will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Quality Assurance (QA) functions across a wide spectrum of Bank Operations. This executive will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust quality framework that ensures operational accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and execute the enterprise QA strategy aligned with overall operational and organizational goals.

  • Establish standardized QA methodologies, evaluation criteria, and scoring models across diverse operational processes.

  • Monitor quality performance trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

  • Ensure QA programs support regulatory compliance, risk mitigation efforts, and audit readiness.

Operational Oversight

  • Lead quality evaluations and control programs across multiple Bank Operations functions (e.g., payments, servicing, fraud, claims, onboarding, account maintenance, lending operations).

  • Define and maintain quality policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

  • Partner with Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Training teams to identify gaps and drive process improvements.

  • Oversee root‑cause analysis for errors and quality findings; lead remediation plans and long-term solutions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Analysts

  • Establish performance expectations, quality calibration routines, and team development programs.

  • Promote a strong quality culture centered on accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Data & Reporting

  • Oversee QA scorecard development, quality dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to drive transparency.

  • Analyze quality metrics to identify emerging risks, operational inefficiencies, and training needs.

  • Present key findings, trends, and strategic recommendations to senior and executive leadership

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the QA subject matter expert and thought leader for operational quality.

  • Participate in strategic initiatives, change‑management efforts, and process reengineering projects.

  • Support new product or system releases by designing QA testing protocols and post‑deployment review routines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Operational Risk, or Bank Operations.

  • Expertise in designing QA frameworks within regulated financial services environments.

  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations, operational controls, risk management practices, and audit standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Education

  • Degree in finance, accounting, business or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience equally preferable

The typical base pay range for this role is between $91K - $114K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
