Job Description:
Schedule: Thursday and Friday 8hrs- 11:30-7:30, Saturday 5 hours- 11:30a-4:30p
Location: Tampa, FL Driving and picking up lab samples (Tampa-Ocala), local drive on Saturdays
Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients, visitors, belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment via stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, or vehicles. Makes scheduled and unscheduled trips to various facilities to pick up patients, visitors, or employees in a timely and efficient manner. Adheres to all local and state traffic regulations, ensuring the safety of passengers. Maintains assigned vehicle in clean and suitable condition, refuels vehicles, and replaces all used items. Accurately reports necessary information using the phone system. Delivers and picks up hospital-required items such as films, specimens, mail, and reports from area hospitals and physician offices. Communicates with offices to ascertain needs regarding specimen pick-up and drop-off. Prioritizes job responsibilities and makes decisions, asking for clarification when needed, and maintains flexibility as required. Transports hazardous materials from the point of generation to a designated delivery area. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to handle pharmacy preparations, caustics, toxic chemicals and/or irritants appropriately and safely [Required]
• Ability to understand customer needs and respond to them in a proactive, courteous, professional, and efficient manner [Required]
• Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
