Robert Half Bookkeeper Assistant in Tampa, Florida

Description

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper Assistant to join our team in Tampa, Florida. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-established company. The ideal candidate will support bookkeeping functions while learning and growing into the role of lead bookkeeper over time.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions, including accurately reviewing and processing invoices.

• Handle accounts receivable tasks such as generating invoices, recording payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Assist with payroll management, ensuring timely and precise processing.

• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved.

• Collaborate with the current bookkeeper to learn processes and gradually take on more responsibilities.

• Maintain organized financial records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.

• Communicate with vendors and clients regarding financial matters, addressing inquiries as needed.

• Provide administrative support for financial operations to ensure smooth daily workflow.

• Contribute to the transition of responsibilities as the current bookkeeper prepares for retirement.

• Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in all financial and payroll tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, demonstrating strong foundational skills.

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

• Willingness to learn software; training will be provided.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Strong communication skills to effectively work with team members, vendors, and clients.

• Ability to adapt and take on increasing responsibilities over time.

• Patience and a collaborative attitude to work closely with the current bookkeeper.

• Commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in all financial tasks.
