What you will be doing as a Lead A&P Mechanic:
In this role, you can expect to perform licensed A&P maintenance, repairs, overhauls, modifications, and troubleshooting on Textron Aviation aircraft at the Tampa, FL Service Center. You’ll apply your technical expertise in a hands-on environment where safety, quality, and precision matter every day.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Aircraft Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose malfunctions and perform disassembly, repair, replacement, reassembly, and system adjustments across jet, turboprop, and piston multiengine aircraft to ensure flight readiness and on-time delivery
Advanced Systems & Component Work: Inspect, repair, and replace complex aircraft systems and assemblies including avionics-integrated mechanical systems, landing gear, pressurization, environmental controls, turbochargers, and optional equipment installations
Engine & Powerplant Support: Repair and replace engine components and accessories such as fuel and oil systems, starter generators, hydraulic and vacuum pumps, and related control units supporting safe aircraft operation
Inspections, Modifications & Compliance: Execute 100hour, annual, and progressive inspections per FAR 43 while performing approved aircraft modifications and precision system updates
Functional Testing & Flight Readiness: Conduct functional checks, engine runs, instrument testing and alignment, rigging, throttle synchronization, and preventive maintenance to validate system performance
Technical Leadership & Documentation: Complete accurate maintenance and inspection documentation while providing guidance and hands on support to junior technicians and helpers
Qualifications
What you need to be successful:
Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent
License Requirement: Active A&P license is required
OR In lieu of A&P license must have DD214 form to be reviewed and eligible for company-sponsored technical certification and future license achievement. Must have hours of On-the-Job training (MOS/NEC/AFSC) reviewed and evaluated by FSDO
Experience & Technical Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of varied experience across jet, turboprop, and piston aircraft, including modifications and 100hour and annual inspections.
10 years experience is helpful
Recognition as a subject matter expert, including Textron fleet aircraft is helpful
Service Center Experience: Experience working in a customer service or maintenance facility performing aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, and repair
Technical & Systems Knowledge: Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, apply basic arithmetic, and demonstrate strong working knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and principles is required.
Security & Compliance: Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority is required, if applicable
