What Retail Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.
Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
Job Summary
The Remote Pharmacy Technician II plays a key role in supporting our members through accurate prescription processing and exceptional customer service. This role focuses on phone‑based member support, order processing, and prescription adjudication with no physical dispensing, packing, or on‑site pharmacy work.
Responsibilities
Answer inbound and outbound calls daily from members, prescribers, and insurance companies
Assist new and existing members with order placement, prescription questions, and payment inquiries
Contact prescriber offices for clarifications, refills, and prescription needs
Accurately type prescription information into system workflows
Adjudicate prescriptions and resolve insurance‑related issues
Route cases to Intake or other queues when appropriate
Work out of multiple queues and maintain productivity expectations
Maintain high attention to detail and ensure accuracy in all data entry
Follow all pharmacy regulations, policies, and internal procedures
Qualifications
1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferred
High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License, in good standing
Retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
Anticipated hourly range: $18.90 per hour - $24.30 per hour
