Job Title: Material Handler- Recycling Facility

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Material Handler to join our recycling facility specializing in battery and light‑bulb processing . This role is responsible for safely moving, staging, and preparing recyclable materials for processing while following strict environmental and safety regulations.

Shift: 6am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday

Pay: 18/hr

Responsibilities

  • Move and transfer batteries, light bulbs, and related materials from shipping containers to designated processing areas

  • Safely handle recyclable and potentially hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations

  • Follow all safety procedures related to battery and bulb recycling

  • Properly stage, sort, and organize materials for processing

  • Wear required PPE at all times, including an insulated hood and other protective equipment

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area

  • Complete basic documentation, logs, and tracking forms

  • Assist with general material handling and facility support as needed

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production plant, or recycling plant

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse setting that is not climate-controlled, which can get hot in the summer. You will be exposed to lighting equipment, materials, and controlled processing systems. PPE is required at all times in designated areas, and a safety-first, regulated work setting is maintained.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tallahassee, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
