Red Hat Dedicated Operations Technical Account Manager (TAM) - Red Hat Platform in Tallahassee, Florida
Red Hat's North American Public Sector Customer Success team is looking for an experienced, enterprise-level system engineer to join us as a Dedicated Operations Technical Account Manager (DO-TAM) in Tampa, FL.
In this role, you will work with a key government customer to provide hands-on "Day 2" operational support, administration, and integration guidance for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
This is a fully onsite position. You will act as a dedicated resource supporting the customer's environments, facilitating collaboration with their other vendors, and act as their champion within Red Hat.
What You Will Do:
Execute Day 2 Operations: Provide hands-on administration, integration support, and maintenance for the customer's Red Hat core infrastructure, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Satellite, and Red Hat Identity Management (IdM), ensuring platform stability and successful upgrades.
Platform Management & Optimization: Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of Standard Operating Environments (SOEs). Utilize Red Hat Satellite for efficient provisioning, subscription management, content views, and automated patching across the enterprise.
Proactive Issue Prevention: Perform technical reviews, system health checks, and share knowledge to proactively identify and prevent issues before they impact mission-critical operations.
Customer Advocacy: Gain a deep understanding of the customer's technical infrastructure, hardware, and strategic goals to serve as their primary advocate within Red Hat.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Red Hat Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support teams to debug, test, and resolve complex technical OS, deployment, and identity management issues.
Guidance & Strategy: Provide advice and guidance to customers about their current and future Red Hat products, specifically focusing on OS lifecycle management, infrastructure scaling, security compliance, and identity governance.
Case Management: Manage customer cases, maintain clear and concise case documentation, and deliver value to customers by documenting and sharing learnings through a defined knowledge management process.
On-Site Presence: Perform duties physically on-site at the customer's facility located in Tampa, FL acting as a seamlessly integrated extension of their IT operations team.
Required Skills
Citizenship: US Citizenship Required.
Security Clearance: TS/SCI
Platform Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite, including experience with bare-metal and virtualized installation, upgrading, troubleshooting, and large-scale OS lifecycle management.
Infrastructure Concepts: Deep understanding of configuration management, system provisioning, network configuration, and Linux security/compliance baselines (e.g., STIGs).
Scripting & Version Control: Proficiency in Bash or Python scripting, and familiarity with source code management tools like Git.
Support Background: Prior experience in a support, system administration, engineering, or quality assurance organization, particularly within the public sector or enterprise environments.
Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex infrastructure concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Agility: Ability to manage multiple issues and projects with an eye for detail and shifting priorities in a high-stakes environment.
Availability: Willingness to provide after-hours coverage (on-call duty) as mission requirements dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline (computer science, IT, or engineering)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification
Working knowledge of IT automation using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
Familiarity with containerization concepts and Red Hat OpenShift.
The salary range for this position is $107,980.00 - $172,730.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
