Your role and responsibilities
As an Application Consultant specializing in Application Modernization, you play a pivotal role in guiding organizations through the transformation of legacy applications into modern, agile, and cloud-ready solutions. This role requires blending technical expertise with business acumen to assess current environments, define modernization strategies, and support implementation efforts that align with enterprise goals. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess legacy systems and identify modernization opportunities, recommending modernization approaches such as rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, or rebuilding based on business and technical requirements.
• Support Cloud-Native Design: Support the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures across platforms like AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud, advising on the adoption of containerization, microservices, and API-driven development to enhance scalability and maintainability. • Integrate AI Capabilities: Assist in integrating generative AI capabilities into modernized applications, providing guidance on data migration strategies, testing governance, and DevOps practices to ensure smooth transitions.
• Align Business and Technical Solutions: Work closely with architects and developers to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions, leveraging modernization methodologies and tools to accelerate transformation.
Required technical and professional expertise
• Exposure to Cloud-Native Architectures: Experience with designing and implementing cloud-native architectures across platforms like AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud, including knowledge of containerization, microservices, and API-driven development. • Modernization Methodologies: Experience with application modernization methodologies such as AMM (Application Modernization Method) and tools like ICA (IBM Cloud Automation) to accelerate transformation. • Generative AI Integration: Experience with integrating generative AI capabilities into modernized applications, including knowledge of data migration strategies, testing governance, and DevOps practices. • Technical Solution Alignment: Experience working with architects and developers to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions, including leveraging modernization methodologies and tools. • Legacy System Assessment: Experience assessing legacy systems and identifying modernization opportunities, including recommending modernization approaches such as rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, or rebuilding based on business and technical requirements.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Cloud-Native Architecture Knowledge: Exposure to designing and implementing cloud-native architectures across multiple cloud platforms, including containerization, microservices, and API-driven development. • Modernization Methodology Familiarity: Exposure to application modernization methodologies and tools, such as AMM and ICA, to accelerate transformation efforts. • Generative AI Integration Skills: Exposure to integrating generative AI capabilities into modernized applications, including data migration strategies and DevOps practices.
