Role Purpose
Own Micro Lens Attach (MLA) and optical assembly processes end to end, from NPI through high volume manufacturing, ensuring optical performance, automation architecture, robust yield, and disciplined cost and ramp.
Key Responsibilities
• Process Ownership & Manufacturing Strategy:
o Serve as the single end to end process owner for MLA and optical assembly from NPI to HVM.
o Define and own alignment and bonding methodologies to meet optical performance, yield, and repeatability requirements.
o Define the process scalability roadmap covering throughput, cost, and multi site manufacturing deployment.
o Drive DfM feedback for optical component design to enable manufacturability at scale.
• Automation Architecture & Deployment:
o Act as Automation Architect for MLA and optical assembly, defining the end to end automation concept
o Specify automation requirements for optical alignment, active and passive attach, calibration and verification
o Interface with optical tool vendors and integrators to deploy solutions that support tight tolerances, high throughput, and global replication
o Own the automation roadmap and deployment timing aligned with NPI and ramp plans
• NPI Readiness & Transfer to Manufacturing:
o Own MLA manufacturing readiness through Engineering, Design and product validation test (EVT, DVT, and PVT.)
o Define tool and process qualification plans and readiness criteria for volume release
o Own process transfer to contract manufacturers, including full documentation
o Support ramp up, yield learning, and process stabilization at scale
• Metrology, Yield & Process Control:
o Define optical metrology, calibration, and verification standards
o Own optical performance yield, defect reduction, and root cause analysis
o Define and maintain process capability targets and control plans
Experiences/Education - Required
• B.S., M.S. in Engineering or relevant field (preferred: Mechanical Engineering, Systems, Industrial, Mechatronic, Electronic or similar)
• 10+ years of experience in mfg equipment design and/or process improvement
• Hands-on experience with test and measurement technologies and automation processes
• Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems by developing creative solutions with an understanding of the underlying principles
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work in teams and lead employees
• Innovative mindset and problem-solving attitude
• Self-motivated to deliver results with minimal supervision
• Communicates effectively (verbal and written)
• Organized with good planning and time management skills

Experiences/Education - Desired
• Knowledge of opto-mechanical technologies and manufacturing
