Logistics Administrative Assistant

Location: Tacoma, WA

Employment Type: Temp – Hire

Pay Rate: $24 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Adecco is recruiting for a Logistics Administrative Assistant to support a union-based logistics operation in Tacoma, WA. As a Logistics Administrative Assistant, you will play a key part in maintaining smooth administrative and logistics functions, supporting freight, warehousing, and transportation activities. We are looking for detail-oriented professionals who can thrive in a fast-paced yet stable work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to logistics and supply chain teams.

  • Coordinate and maintain documentation for freight shipments, warehousing, and transportation activities.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records for shipments, inventory, vendors, and internal documentation.

  • Assist with scheduling, tracking, and monitoring deliveries across multiple transportation modes.

  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, external carriers, vendors, and customers to ensure timely operations.

  • Prepare and compile logistics reports, KPI summaries, and operational presentations.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Process shipping documentation and release cargo loads.

  • Accurately enter hazardous material data for compliance and cargo movement.

  • Reconcile vessel bookings post-sailing and maintain updated booking records.

  • Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and customer requests when needed.

  • Input and maintain booking files for internal databases and ERP systems.

  • Perform general clerical duties, data entry, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2 years of clerical OR operational experience in a transportation or logistics-related field is required and not negotiable. This requirement is essential due to the technical nature of logistics documentation and union-based operational standards.

  • Familiarity with shipping cycles and logistics operations.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong data entry and computer skills.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems is a plus.

  • Must be eligible to join the OPEIU union.

Pay Details: $24.00 per hour
