Akima Sheetmetal Technician in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
The CH-47F Maintenance Augmentation Team is seeking a Sheetmetal Technician to support our team in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Join our team of professionals today!
Responsibilities
Performs inspections, repairs, and replacement of aircraft structural components to include stringers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
Fabricates structural parts and forming blocks.
Shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques.
Mixes and applies fiberglass materials.
Makes unscheduled emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures.
Uses the following: common measuring tools, precision measuring gages and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs.
Mixes and applies primers and paints to aircraft surfaces.
Applies corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals.
Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock items for repair of aircraft structures.
Uses and performs operator maintenance on common special tools.
Prepares, reviews, and updates aircraft maintenance forms and records.
Provides On-the-Job Training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring to RSLFAC personnel in all aspects of aircraft sheetmetal tasks as necessary.
Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.
Other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities within the parameters of his supervisor’s direction.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Qualifications
Eight (8) years’ total experience and two (2) within the last five (5) years as an aircraft sheetmetal technician.
Successfully completed and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces Sheetmetal Technician course or civilian equivalent training.
Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management system, and other aircraft related documentation.
Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
Possess a valid state or Government issued driver’s license.
Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
US Citizenship required.
