Citigroup Business Development Sr Group Manager in São Paulo, Brazil
The Business Development Manager is a strategic professional who will be primarily responsible for driving cross-division collaboration and business development with focus on LATAM region. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external clients. Individual will be accountable for significant direct business results that will be accomplished through building internal relationships, especially with senior bankers, to drive deeper relationships with their clients and prospects.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving new introductions and client conversion from the Banking division to the Wealth division and from the Wealth division to the Banking division with focus on LATAM region.
Responsible for tracking for reporting purposes and managing revenue share agreements around partnership introductions
Responsible for maintaining effective controls around privacy information (Wealth) and MNPI (Banking). This individual will be a “wall straddler” so effective management of information and knowledge of the information barriers is critical.
Actively manage, develop and drive cross divisional cooperation Bring a OneCiti lens to decision making processes around asks for key clients to deepen relationships and drive better penetration for Citi across multiple divisions
Help manage client education, outreach and coordination with respect to market themes and joint events
Collaborate with market leadership councils on joint marketing efforts and internal educational programs to ensure broad understanding of the various offerings across the firm
Together with the broader team, manage and lead the implementation of new institutional level programs to better enable the delivery of a OneCiti perspective on deals, offerings, and an overall approach to client coverage
Together with the broader team, coordinate the setup and completion of other bespoke agreements or arrangements to help drive the client franchise
Work with management and others on the team globally to ensure that the strategic goals are met
Oversee sensitive issues both internally and externally in a client friendly manner, managing expectations throughout
Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure as well as reporting outputs
Appropriately assess risk/reward when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
This is a unique and challenging role that provides exposure to clients, to various product and control groups as well as visibility from senior business leaders.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
Ability to collaborate and work as a team
Strong presentation skills
Previous experience in client-facing roles in Banking or Wealth (both a plus)
Problem solving & change management skills
Ability to think creatively and drive a process that encompasses multiple stakeholders
Licenses: required one of the following CEA, CNP and CGA
Fluent english
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
