Your role and responsibilities
As a Digital Sales Specialist focused on New Clients for IBM's Cloud Platform products, you will be responsible for new client acquisition in the Digital Select Segment. You will achieve success through opportunity identification, progression, and closure with business partners and close collaboration with Sales Development Representatives (SDR). Your primary responsibilities will include: • Identify New Sales Opportunities: Lead sales efforts with selected, scripted PLG products and identify new sales opportunities for the Cloud Platform Portfolio, including Cloud Object Storage, VPC Offerings, and other products. • Collaborate with SDRs: Work closely with Sales Development Representatives to progress and close sales opportunities with new clients in the Digital Select Segment. • Develop Sales Strategies: Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new clients and achieve sales targets for the Cloud Platform Portfolio. • Deliver Solution Sales: Deliver solution sales that meet the needs of new clients, leveraging the Cloud Platform Portfolio and other IBM products and services. • Progress Sales Opportunities: Progress sales opportunities through the sales cycle, from initial identification to closure, with a focus on achieving sales targets and growing revenue.
Required technical and professional expertise
• Exposure to Cloud Platform Products: Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, including Cloud Object Storage, VPC Offerings, IaaS Classic, Power Virtual Server, SAP Rise, VMware Managed and Solutions, and other related products. • Sales Opportunity Identification: Experience identifying and progressing new sales opportunities through collaboration with business partners and Sales Development Representatives. • Scripted PLG Product Sales: Exposure to leading sales efforts with selected, scripted PLG products and developing sales strategies to acquire new clients. • Cloud Portfolio Knowledge: Understanding of the Cloud Platform Portfolio, including its various components and solutions, such as Cloud Containers, Cloud Data Services, Cloud Security Services, and Deployment Automation. • Solution Sales Delivery: Experience delivering solution sales that meet client needs, leveraging cloud-based technologies and other related products and services.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Cloud Portfolio Familiarity: Exposure to a broad range of cloud-based technologies, including Cloud Object Storage, VPC Offerings, and other related products, is beneficial for this role. • Scripted Sales Experience: Experience working with selected, scripted PLG products and developing sales strategies to acquire new clients is a plus. • Solution Sales Knowledge: Familiarity with delivering solution sales that meet client needs, leveraging cloud-based technologies and other related products and services, is advantageous.
